Since the trouble mentioned in this memo, we have been examining the springs of our experimental cars. In the ordinary way being covered with gaiters it is not easy to see any distortion. We have found however that on one of our cars we have reproduced the customer's trouble. In this case we cannot blame the spring brinell as the figures given below indicate this to be well up to specification. We are now seeing if we can find a means of reproducing this trouble at will, with the object of trying out rebound leaves etc. to improve matters with the existing scheme.
