Re: Silver Wraith.

Referring to our conversation yesterday, concerning what work has to be done, both in designs and details to produce Silver Wraith 50, we have made a complete analysis of the situation since most of the work concerns this Department.

To produce Silver Wraith 50 (Wraith III. engine), we need the lengthened frame with the set-forward front pan.

The 56 in. rear springs (issued) are required and the semi-floating rear axle to suit a 59.5" rear track.

The radiator consists of a B.50 interior with a Wraith III Shell and Shutters.

When we convert the car to Silver Wraith 60, (6 cylinder C.I. engine) the only change necessitated will be in the front engine mounting.

The final stage will be the conversion of the car to Silver Wraith 80. (8 cyl. C.I. engine).

This entails the hydraulic front brakes, and a new yoke piece raising the front of the car, also a front spring of higher poundage and lower stress by virtue of a larger diameter, and a modified lower triangle lever.

Attached to this memo we give a detailed statement of the designs needed to produce each of these three moves, Silver Wraith, 50, 60 and 80, and proposals for obtaining Silver Wraith 50 with the minimum of work in producing new details.

If the procedure outlined were adopted, we see no reason why one should not be in a position to instruct the frame, and rear springs by July 15th. 1938, as you suggested.
