X4117 S/W. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Copy to:- C. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} PN.{Mr Northey} EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} CWB16/GM/28-2-27. Re: Chassis No. 120-LC. Spyer. Reference your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG12.2.27, arrangements have now been made to take over this car from tomorrow morning. Immediately after taking it over from the owner it will be driven quietly to Derby and handed over to you. Would you kindly make arrangements for its reception should it arrive after 5-30 p.m. It is not possible for me to be at Derby on Wednesday, as I have several appointments in London, but I am keeping the remainder of the week free and propose to travel to Derby by the 8-20 on Thursday, which arrives shortly after 11. and should be glad if you could arrange to have me met at the station. We could then devote the remainder of the day to such trials as are necessary with this car and go on to Birmingham on Friday. [handwritten: on this train] There are several small matters [handwritten: on this car] which require attention by us, which have been dealt with by the Inspection Department in a memo to Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} and it would be convenient, if possible, for these to be given attention on Wednesday so that immediately following our demonstration to Dunlops the car could be returned to London and to its owner. Unless I hear to the contrary from you, I shall assume you find it possible to carry out this programme. OWB. CWB | ||
