Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}2/M10/3/24.

As to the extra 25 sets of E.A.C.III material beyond the 50 sets for "U" series for which we are asking your authority to order, we might point out that even if we produce the E.A.C.II chassis fairly quickly, or to programme contained in this memo, the extra material would come in very useful for the producing of repairs and spares.

We assume it is your intention to dispose of the E.A.C.III chassis which we have now to produce for "U" series before the 12-E.A.C.II are used for exhibition and demonstration purposes. You will know our reason for mentioning this is that if customers happened to see the E.A.C.II type prior to our completing the E.A.C.III, there may be difficulty in getting rid of some of those which we have to produce in "U" series.

The 12 - E.A.C.II have been treated by us in this memo as "special chassis", i.e. we have not taken them into account as being part of the 8 per week programme since they are to be used for exhibition and demonstration purposes.

Re Minutes of conference of the Design Committee held at West WitteringHenry Royce's home town on Wednesday, March 5th.1924: on seeing Rg.{Mr Rowledge} and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} we are now told that we must not obey the instructions contained in the said minutes, as far as holding up the 100 sets of material is concerned, under the heading of E.A.C.III, and all the foregoing is based by us on the fact that we are proceeding to order immediately 100 sets of material for R's scheme of front wheel brakes, as I arranged with you when in London on Feb.7th.
