(b) Test Department could deal with cars at the rate shown in (a).

(c) It is certain that the Test Department can be so organised that it will not become a "bottle-neck" in connection with the foregoing programme.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} informs us that he hopes to settle all the problems in connection with E.A.C.II by June 1st. To confirm this position we have decided that this question could be gone into each month, that is April and May, which will enable us to deal promptly with difficulties as they arise, and enable us to do all possible to keep Nov.1st. date for E.A.C.II.

With regard to the 50 sets you have authorised for series "U" E.A.C.III type chassis, we would point out that this is intended to cover eight weeks and to keep up a continuity of 8 chassis per week, without a gap, it is necessary that you give us authority to increase this 50 to 75, 64 of which will be wanted for eight weeks' output at 8 per week, 11 additional sets would cover any possible scrap or delay in the introduction of E.A.C.II.

We do not propose, of course, to machine all the 75 sets at one batch; we shall machine the first 50 sets of them, the remainder could be machined as we require it.

We have made all our calculations on the basis that 8 chassis per week, without a gap, are required, therefore if the introduction of E.A.C.II was delayed a week we should be able to continue supplying chassis to Test Department up to 11 chassis, by utilizing the surplus sets.
