May 21st.1915. Re Leaky Radiators. In reply to R2/IB15515. We are proceeding to repeat the bumping tests as requested in your note and have already bumped another crinkled tube 20" ball well underneath radiator. This has given rather poor results as it leaked in several places near both bottom corners after running 2 hrs 30 mins. on 2" alternate bumps at 105 revs. per min. We are now having another radiator fitted up with the rough experimental type of support underneath so as to repeat this test. This radiator will be a 23" one and is one which was tried on the Austrian trials cars. Re your enquiry as to whether any of the ball underneath type radiators have failed on the road, I have not heard of any going wrong but one cannot judge anything by this as the first few of them cannot have been delivered more than a month or so, also I understand that most of them are of the square honeycomb type.
