PETROL FILTERS AND SHORTAGE ON THE ROAD.

We have tested the filter that you handed to us.

We find that the leak at the soldered joint 'A' is just over 2 gal/hour measured under a 6 ft. head of petrol, and the leak at 'B' 1/3 gal/hour measured under the same conditions.

In order to determine the effect of a leak of this magnitude on the actual autovac delivery under working conditions we carried out a test on the bed with the engine drawing petrol into the autovac.

The results are as follows:-
