OUR REF. IM/GR{George Ratcliffe}

5th June 1928.

Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

For attention of Mr. Hives.

Dear Sirs,

Solex test.

With reference to our recent correspondence on the above matter and your kind permission to allow us to carry out tests.

We are not yet quite ready with our forthcoming induction and exhaust lay-out together with carburettor which we will presently submit for the Phantom as discussed, but we have a smaller carburettor ready for preliminary test on the 20 HP, and beg to enquire if we may carry out a short bench test on this engine at your convenience.

We are not submitting this as a final product, but only wish to ascertain the 'characteristics' of this engine by means of a test which will not occupy much of your time and will enable us to note any peculiarities which may call for special constructional measures.
