BEARINGS ; These I agree can be in aluminium alloy or magnesium, whichever is the better wearing alloy. They should be die-cast; perhaps the one nearest the driving gear wheel should be bronze-bushed, because this is continuously loaded in one direction. I think it is not important to keep the split horizontal, therefore all the bearings could be alike and interchangeable.
