X. 7090 BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to BJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E8/M6.3.28. EAC.10 CAMSHAFT BEARINGS. We send you herewith Lec.2519 shewing the above. [Faded underlying text:] splash lubrication, but the central web arranged to receive some of the splash direct. We do believe that these bearings should not be made in piston aluminium alloy. These present E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} bearings are in bronze, and found to be very heavy and difficult to machine by comparison. Failing all else, cast iron makes a very good camshaft bearing. | ||
