X6096 To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from EFC. EFCL/T9.11.26. RE MODIFICATIONS TO IGNITION ON EXPERIMENTAL CHASSIS. Would you kindly note that the following modifications are required on the various chassis to bring up to present standard those portions of the ignition equipment which are not experimental. 9-GIII. Requires hole in distributor base and extra ventilating window in head. 11-GIII. Requires ditto. 5-EX. Requires ditto. 9-EX. Requires extra window in head only. 98-NK. Requires ditto. 12-EX. Requires hole in base only. 44-PH. Requires new standard distributor head complete and hole drilled in contact breaker base. Also on this car, the distributor tower is very slack and can be rocked about considerably. As we have ignition contact point experiments on all these cars, we should be very pleased to have them all corrected as above up to present standard. The experiments themselves involve the coils, the ballast resistances, and contact points; these are definitely experimental and are intended to continue as they are at present. EFC. | ||
