STEEL ARTILLERY WHEELS. X.4586.

As promised, we send herewith N.sch.1825., shewing an alternative method of mounting the steel artillery wheels on EAC.111., to the stud method of N.sch.1821.

The general idea is exactly like the Dunlop, but by modifying the lock we have been able to save about .9" in overhang on either side. We have also used practically the existing Dunlop steel wheel.

With reference to the latter Mr. Royce would like 12 spokes and 12 bolts if possible. Perhaps you would let us know about this.

The back brake drum is unaltered except that the bolts are turned round as shewn, but the front one is again a fresh pressing.

It will be understood that we shall not use N.sch.1821, and 1825., but that one or the other will be chosen for standard.
