X4586 BY/HM{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}2/K.{Mr Kilner} 19.7.24. BM. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} CHASSIS 1-CW STEEL ARTILLERY WHEELS. Further to our memo BY12/H13.6.24., the Steel Artillery Wheels from the above chassis, have now come to hand, and on examination of same we found two Wheels where the weld had given way under the rim. We are of the opinion that the cause of the trouble is due to the Dunlop Co., filing too much of the weld in cleaning the Wheels up, and we have returned the whole set of Wheels to the Dunlop Co., asking them to throughly overhaul the remaining Wheels, and let us have their report as soon as possible. We will forward you a copy of Messrs. Dunlop's report as soon as we receive same. BY/HM.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} for Mr Bailey | ||
