Dear Sirs,

With reference to your letter of the 13th. inst., HRB/B, we are very pleased to hear that you are able to reduce the outside diameter of the lightweight speedometer and rev.counter by 5".

We regret that we shall be unable to fit the two sample instruments on a chassis in their present state as not only does it mean we have to make a new casting but also we have to make a new instrument board to take the larger casting, and we feel that it would be better to return these instruments to you to enable you to rebuild them to the 5" outside diameter. These instruments have been bench tested and we understand they are quite satisfactory.

We should also like to confirm that we have shelved the combined patch scheme, for the time being.

Yours faithfully,
FOR ROLLS-ROYCE, LIMITED,

P M Harvey Bailey

TECHNICAL PRODUCTION ENGINEER.
