RE COMPARISON OF SYRING HYDROMETERS.

The comparison of the Exide S1 hydrometer and the S1 hydrometer made the The Electric Storage Battery Co. U.S.A. seems to be that they are practically the same instrument, only that the one made in U.S.A. has a poorer quality rubber bulb and the float has no projections on it to prevent sticking, as in the Exide, it also reads low all along the scale by .015. The Exide reads better and the figures are more legible.

The container is also a cheap article. I was under the impression that the present standard hydrometer supplied to us was of the straight barrel type with a grey rubber bulb, which is a better instrument, much easier to clean and also eliminates the flaw at the point where the barrel is drawn down. This is eminent in the two instruments in question.
