EXHAUST HEATED CARBURETTER FOR PHANTOM II.

We have two experimental Phantom II cars running with exhaust heat to the carburetter. The results we are obtaining are very satisfactory, and we have no doubt that they will satisfy the worst conditions in U.S.A.

These cars have been tried by Oy. and Mr. Southern, and they agree that they would anticipate no trouble with cars fitted with this scheme.

The alteration is relatively a small one, as fortunately the exhaust connection in the cylinder head is on all Phantom engines, although it is not used when we have the water heating.

There is a certain amount of work to be done before we arrive at the standardised scheme, but we thought you may be interested to know that considerable progress has been made.

When we have exhaust heating to the carburetter, the urgency for automatic shutters is less. The demand for automatic shutters for Phantom II will then be no greater than it was on Phantom I. We shall still want to go ahead with automatic shutters but shall have more time.
