WRAITH III STARTER SWITCH SIMPLIFIED

We have examined this new type of simplified starter switch very carefully, and we feel that its construction electrically is quite sound.

A saving of superfluous parts is very evident and thought has also been given from an assembly point of view.

The Electrical Lab. have, apparently, carried out some severe tests on this particular switch and we attach herewith a very satisfactory report which goes on to say that 15000 successful starts were accomplished (equivalent to 4 year's wear) with a negligible volt drop across the contacts and no sign of failure is recorded.

The deletion of Carbon and laminated contacts in favour of solid copper is one of its main features, and this could be easily incorporated in the present switch without involving an expensive outlay of tools, etc.

If, however, all the useful features were incorporated the eventual saving would of course be considerable although a fairly large sum would have to be expended on modified Bakelite mouldings and Press Tools.

We recommend that the former course be proceeded with as soon as convenient.
