As far as we can see the only likely reason for requiring the withdrawal of the shaft is a leaking oil seal.

(22). Design in hand for eccentrix fulcrum pins, adjustable from outside the box.
After we have had experience on production in assembling this box, we shall know what variation has to be allowed for and whether it is necessary to have adjustment.
Adjustment can always be avoided by lengthening the box and reducing the actuation leverage, but it would be as well in any case to start off with adjustment in order to find out how much variation has to be provided for.
