23-EX TRIALS CAR.

We have done all we know of to cure booms on this car. We have not been entirely successful. However, we consider that the modifications incorporated reduce the intensity of booms by a very considerable amount.

We are returning the car to you in exactly the same condition as that in which 129-GN has been running for the past few months, i.e. rear feet disconnected, rubber in the column support, and the best compromise of scuttle rubber tension.

The one part we have not fitted is the spare wheel carrier bracket. You will recollect that normally when we remove the rear wheel feet we support the spare wheel carrier bracket from the dashboard. In this particular case the spare wheel bracket does not vibrate very badly with the rear feet removed and so we have not delayed the car to manufacture and fit it. We are however forwarding the parts before the end of the week to Cricklewood, so that if you consider the movement of this spare wheel to be excessive you can get Cricklewood to fit the support. They have already done this on Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s car and so are familiar with the job.

You will appreciate that 129-GN and 23-EX are running with a temporary scheme and should both be fitted up with the permanent bits at the conclusion of Olympia.
