For the attention of C. Falconer, Esq. Dear Sirs, Re: Short Wheelbase Bentley 2-B-5. We confirm that during our visit to your Works last Wednesday, we agreed that the above body should proceed now without delay, and according to the latest instructions received from us, except in the case of the front wings. It is proposed to make a small modification to the base of the radiator grille, which will affect the front wings, and particulars of this modification will be sent to you to enable you to add it to the dummy radiator which you have made already. In order to save time we propose to use on this car the wings as made which are a replica of those of 1-B-5. Although we would like to have on this car modern domed wings, such as you propose to fit to the Standard Bentley, we feel we cannot throw away the wings already made, and also the bottom line of the body is not suitable, its being top high and not outswept calls for a diminutive valance to be fitted. If, however, you can device a more attractive end to the rear of the front wing, and also improve its mud protection properties we would be glad. As agreed when you were in Derby, we propose to fit a stop lamp on each wing, and we will arrange this in Derby. The built-in rear number plate should be deleted. No work should be done on the instrument board, as we may wish to fit a new design of grouped instruments. | ||
