The above diagram shows approximately the restriction at various car speeds of air volume due to air cleaners with high resistance. The Air-Maze does not exact perceptible restriction at any car speed.
The Air-Maze is the Automobile Engineer's Ideal as an Air Cleaner
What engineers are most concerned with in selecting an air cleaner is one that (1) sets up a minimum vacuum ahead of the carburetor; (2) that is 100% efficient; (3) that is compact enough to go into available space; (4) that will require no attention from or cause any trouble to the owner; (5) that has no moving parts.
The AIR-MAZE is the ONE air cleaner that exactly fits all of their requirements.
AIR-MAZE means better carburetion and better lubrication, which means better mileage, better performance and longer life to the motor because of the exclusion of the flint-like, abrasive dust particles, which, mixed with the oil film, make a potent grinding compound, wearing out the motor, causing oil pumping, piston slap, loss of compression and carbon knock. AIR-MAZE means fewer and smaller repair bills, because of removal of the foreign substances which dilute the oil, causing excessive wear on all working parts, resulting in carbon removal, cylinder regrinding, piston and piston ring replacement.
The following is quoted from a report of Joseph Tracey, who has just completed a most exacting test: “The Air-Maze did not produce any increase in the depression or minus pressure in the inlet manifold, neither did it cause any reduction in the power output or any increase in fuel consumption.”

Dust Through Air Intake of Carburetor Costs Motorists Millions
In the discussion of Air-Filters at the Summer Session of the Society of Automobile Engineers in 1924, it was clearly manifested that dust entering the air intake of the carburetor is the Demon that destroys Motors. “It is conservatively estimated that road dust, grit and carbon cost the motorists of the United States more than $350,000,000 annually for replacement of piston rings and bearings; that 600,000,000 gallons of gasoline are wasted by reason of worn motors; and that 10,000,000 machines are idle in repair shops—an average of five days each twelve months,” says Compressed Air Magazine.
