TO BY, HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ) FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} EFC. ) (At Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.) R5/M1.2.27. DESPATCHED FROM WW. 4.2.27. C.c. to BJ. WCR. PN.{Mr Northey} CWB. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} PHANTOM & 20HP. X6770 X9394 X5680 X5770 X7680 X8680 Mr. Hanbury's expressions of satisfaction with his new trials car is encouraging. I too have been much impressed with the same qualities, especially riding, steering, and acceleration, and smoothness. We should watch carefully our stock of parts so that customers can get our most up-to-date car at the first possible safe moment. Will BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} continue with HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} to look as far forward as possible to reduce stocks of affected parts of primary improvements? At the moment comes to my mind 20HP. induction and exhaust - quite safe to stop present type castings, etc. Then 20HP. undershields, but HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is the one who knows what is coming. There are also parts of electrical equipment, especially ignition, which will otherwise cause us much expense in improving back numbers for the sake of our reputation, i.e. in addition to finer primaries (coils), increased ballast resistance, there will probably be tungsten points, and off-set breaker lever to give quick break and slow make (very important and urgent.)
