EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT REPORT x7060 REFERENCE :- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Swd1.2/MW.25.4.34. Subject of Report :- Ph.II Self Adjusting Tappets (Direct Acting). General Conclusions :- Though functioning with satisfaction, the dimensions of these particular tappets are such that on Ph.II the plungers are overloaded, resulting in light tappet noises which are equivalent to standard rockers with .003 clearance. It is assumed therefore that this size of plunger mechanism would be more suitable for Bentley or 25 HP. Copies of Report Circulated to :- Eg.
