2nd. June 1932.

Messrs. Lodge Plugs Ltd.,
Rugby.

For the attention of Mr. Bernard Hopps.

Dear Sir,

We have carried out some bench tests on the CH.3 Lodge Plugs which you submitted to us. We compared these plugs with the C.3 plugs.

The results of our tests indicate that the CH.3 plug is not appreciably better for preignition than the C.3 plug. You will recollect that the CH.3 has .150 longer reach than the C.3 Type.

Our road tests have established that the misfiring when picking up on magneto, of which we complained, is due to a defect in the magneto and not to the plug and so for the time being this feature ceases to trouble us.

You will observe that we are still without a Lodge plug which will stand up to our high compression Phantom II and should therefore be obliged if you will give this matter your attention.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS ROYCE LIMITED.
