x4415 SPARKING PLUGS. (PHANTOM II) LODGE TYPES C.3 AND C.H.3. Conditions under which these plugs were run :- 5.25 : 1 comp Ratio (turbulant head). W.W. (114º) Camshaft. Complete standard induction system. " " P.II Silencer system (longtype silencer) Run at 3000 R.P.M. developing 120 B.H.P. (67.8 B.M.E.P.) LODGE C.3. Under the above conditions, after running for 10 minutes at full throttle (full load), preignition was apparent by loss of power, and erratic running on the magneto plugs (Battery 'off'). After shutting down, engine remained running switched off. LODGE C.H.3. The results with this type were similar to C.3. preignition after 10 minutes. Upon inspection C.H.3. type, shewed signs of having become hotter than C.3. The C.H.3 plugs having (approx) .150 longer reach than C.3. type. C.F.Salt. | ||
