Telephone:- 200 Connah's Quay Telegrams:- Summers, Chester. Shotton, Chester. 1345 15th March 1940 Dear Bill, I am sending you a copy of the figures which are produced monthly showing the operating costs of our Leyland and Bedford Lorries. All the Leyland are Octopus lorries, and the Bedford are the standard three ton long chassis. They are all between 2 1/2 and 4 years old, and as I told you when I was at Derby there is probably not very much of the original vehicle left. They have carried on the average loads between four and five tons, and we have used them to deliver to places where the bigger vehicles cannot conveniently be accommodated. With regard to the oil consumption, I am also sending you figures showing the total number of miles run by each group, and the total number of gallons of oil consumed by them. We do not keep individual records of each vehicle, as we felt it would mean a good deal of office work, and it was questionable whether if the figures had been got out they would have been worth the extra trouble involved. If the particulars I am sending you do not give you all the information you want, let me know, and I will see if we can produce any more. | ||
