Rolls-Royce Ltd. 25th May, 1936 With the existing method of moulding we are getting no less than 99% scrap every time the rubbers are moulded on to the ram tubes and this is not sufficient to cater for your needs. To temporarily overcome this, we have instructed that a number of new moulds be made to enable a sufficient supply of 100% rubbers to be produced to keep you properly supplied. These moulds are now practically finished and will be working in a few days, but immediately your engineers can O.K. the new method of attaching the rubber glands to our ram tubes there will be no possible chance of late deliveries and we shall be able to supply jacking systems far in excess of your requirements. I can only add how extremely sorry we are for causing you this serious inconvenience and that we are doing everything in our power to straighten out the very grave position as it is today.
