X.682.- RE CAR 7 CA.
I shall only require this car for about a week so that it will be scarcely worth while fetching 49GB from here to Derby, unless several of staff visiting here.

X.2650. I am particularly anxious that the springing experiments have progressed sufficiently that you are satisfied that with the knowledge we have, the car would run over undulating roads with the least tendency to sway, and to take corners on rough roads so that the axle does not hop sideways on the ground and lose its adhesion. I have the impression that we ought to persevere with the springs under the axle, which are theoretically so much nearer right. Car 49GB has them fitted this way, and is quite a remarkably comfortable car to ride in at the back.

X.3044 It will not be necessary for my purpose to fit over-size tyres, and I should leave this for a future experiment.

X.2983. I should like the high speed valves fitted, and the pistons which we think are likely to be adopted. X.2809. X.2369

X.2937. The camshaft I can see, will probably not be ready, although a special effort should be made to get this through if possible.

I assume that the clutch will be oil retaining, if not already fitted.

X.3034. X.2641. There is also the new automatic switch with the single press button for the starter. This automatic
