R.R. ENGINE PARTICULARS.

Car engines being primarily designed for low speed torque, and having to have exceedingly good ilding, are fitted with flywheels and clutches which are unnecessarily heavy for more general application.

In quoting engine weights in this case, we have provided for clutches and flywheels which will take care of everything comfortably except definite abuse.

The H.P's quoted are those at which we are prepared to run under type test conditions, i.e. 90 hrs at 9/10 and 10 hours at full throttle.

The P.III engine is, of course, all aluminium which means that the coolant cannot be salt water. The Bentley engine has cast iron head and cylinder block so that all the water passages are in aluminium.
