Modifications to be made to the Spectre II gearbox following a 10,000-mile test.

Gearbox for SpectreCodename for Phantom III II - 10,000 Miles Test. Of the various modifications we wish to have applied to the gearbox of SpectreCodename for Phantom III II, most will be covered by schemes which will be issued by the Design Dept. very shortly. The modifications which will not be covered by the schemes are as follows :- (1) Completely blank the hole in reverse shaft at the rear end. (2) Blank front end of 2nd motion shaft and drill out to same dia. as rear end of shaft. (3) Drill 3 oil holes 0.125" dia. in 2nd motion shaft from space between the two 2nd speed floating bushes to centre of shaft. (4) Cut 3 oil grooves in end faces of 2nd speed and 3rd speed floating bushes. Will you please carry out the above modifications. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/F.J.Hardy. | ||
