Y29-4, To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/MJ.24.3.33. Matters for attention arising out of Minutes of Conference at Derby March 9th. Replying to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}4/GR.{George Ratcliffe}23.3.33. Minute 1. Item 1. J.11 or J.111 - progress generally. We expect to have J.111 on the road fitted with automatically adjusted tappets this week. As regards the modified front axle, we find that we can make these out of the existing forging and one is being produced and should be completed in about two weeks. Minute 2. Item 2. Peregrine Generally. The Peregrine dynamo is held up until we can get the modified crankcase which allows the dynamo to run at lower speeds. Bensport is having preference, and it should be several weeks before we have a Peregrine fitted with the correct dynamo. Minute 3. Peregrine. Woodhead springs have completed 10,000 miles satisfactor-ily on Peregrine. We expect to examine them some time next week. Minute 4. Item 4. Bensport. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} has given us a modified circlip and a set of these pistons are being prepared to send out to France. Higher axle ratio. This has been discussed with BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} and the necessary cutters are being obtained. Intake silencer. Experiments are being carried out in connection with this. Engine finish. The next Bensport unit which is being built up has a modified finish. Minute 7. Item 6. P.11. The cylinders and pistons bored out larger are completed and a unit is being prepared fitted with these parts. | ||
