Re. Luggage Carrier used on American Chassis.

On all American chassis turned out the luggage carrier is fixed as a standard fitting.

This carrier is very satisfactory and one of the best types I have seen, and I have recommended to Sales Department that this type could [handwritten: might] be used to advantage on our cars, if approved by Derby.

I attach herewith Blue Print of this Carrier, A1737.

The advantage of this carrier is that it acts as a protection for the petrol tank, is easily opened and closed, is not too heavy and yet very serviceable.

These carriers have been used on American made cars which have run 10,000 miles and have not given any trouble.
The American people are considering the desirability of per-manently [handwritten: extending] the rear part of the side member so as to avoid the fixing of the overhanging piece as shown in the drawing.
