and fitted a light spinning in the form of a cup held by the spring against the bottom washer which can be filled fairly easily from a syringe and ensures that the felt is soaked with oil.
Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}, who has mostly to deal with troubles caused by the worn valves and guides has tried a scheme of lubricating the valve guides positively from the extra oil supply. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} has particulars of this arrangement. We are sending round a standardisation sheet for replaceable valve guides of P.B. - these will help. We feel, however, that we shall never overcome the wear on the valve guides until arrangements are made to lubricate them. The most satisfactory way of doing this, of course, would be to enclose the valve.
