J. Lidsey} LUBRICATOR.S I have recollections on the pre-war cars that a gauze disc was fitted to these lubricators, which is not the case at present. I bring this point forward for your consideration of such a scheme being adopted with the present lubricators so as to prevent dirt and sudden flush of oil getting into the bearings. It would also be an advantage on the air pump as the gauze would act as a controlling feature in preventing over-lubrication of the pump, which is a common failure at present, causing the pressure feed to become excessively high, owing to oil filling up the compression chamber of the pump. The features on which this lubrication could receive such attention are as follows:- 1. Steering column ball end. No.25. 2. Fan bracket ball bearing. 3. Air pump intake. 4. Epicyclic gear for starter motor on gear box and motor. Mr. [Illegible] | ||
