Hl. From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} X 7940 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/m.1/MJ.30.4.30. x7250. We send you herewith a sample of foreign matter taken from the filter of 23-EX., now running in France. The filter was installed over the radiator to collect anything that might be washed over from the cylinder block. As this engine is fitted with galvanised cylinders and nickel cylinder head tubes, we are rather interested to know whether this deposit can be attributed in any way to this modification.
