We are very much obliged to you for your letter of the 4th instant, reference as above, with the enclosed report and efficiency curves of the "Q" type Marles-Weller Steering recently supplied to you. This report and curve is of the very greatest value and interest to us, and again we would ask you to kindly accept our best thanks for the same. We are going very carefully into the question of the hemispheres, but in the meantime we are writing to ask whether it is possible for you to let us have the steering back, as we are very desirous of carrying out a complete examination of the same here at our Works. Further, we notice that the test on your Bumper machine was of 48 hours duration, and we are wondering whether you have any factor by which this number of hours could be approximately converted into miles of road service. If you could let us have some information on this heading also, we would be very grateful.
