Please receive herewith G.CD.723 shewing several alternative modifications to the water excluding covers of the propeller shaft centre bearing, to deal with the question of noise magnification, which is complained of with the present covers.
It is suggested that Sch.3 as being the simplest and most economical should be made and tried with the washing hose to see if it is sufficiently water tight, and the other schemes only proceeded with if it is found not so.
