1139. To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} c. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} c. MW. c. Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} "GENERAL" FILTER ON WRAITH III AND B.V. With reference to the above oil filter which is fitted to Wraith III and B.V. chassis, the long mileage on 8.B.V. indicates that 10,000 miles between the change of elements is too great and that this should be cut down to 5,000 miles. The transfer now used on the filler case states that the element should be changed every 10,000 miles, likewise the instructions in the catalogue which should be altered to read "5,000 miles". Some decision should be made whether the modification should apply retrospectively or only for immediate future supplies. Regarding the latter, the O.O. should ensure that filters now on order be "transferred" 5,000 miles and not 10,000 miles. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} | ||
