4508 W/S. To C. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E.2/HP.29.5.35. c.c. Eg. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} c/Fsn. re 20/25 HP. Carburetter Flooding. E.1/HP.29.5.35. I find we have the original carburetter which gave trouble on Major Monro's car, and this has since run 100 hours on a bench test without giving any trouble. We shall, therefore, be able to inspect and test this instrument forthwith. I find also we have some confirmation that the rubber engine mounting may have something to do with this trouble when the car is being driven slowly, and possibly the clutch is being used, and on this basis we will conduct our further experiments.
