We attach herewith a list of the design work completed on the Bentley chassis during the last month and also particulars of design work in hand. Bentley III Chassis. We have completed design instructions for the front suspension with the exception of the rear fixing for the torsion bar Girling brakes, and as an alternative RR. brakes have been applied to it and it is anticipated that the first car will be fitted with the full Girling scheme. The major dimensions and layout of the frame have been settled and detail schemes are in hand for the side members, frame cross and cross members. Schemes are also in hand for the radiator and bonnet. The frontal appearance is receiving attention and Park Ward's will shortly be sent instructions to enable them to build a wooden mock-up. Present Bentley Chassis. Cylinder Heads. Design instructions are completed for the induction pipe to suit the cylinder head with increased area inlet ports, and work on the air silencer is almost completed. Delco Ignition. The necessary work to apply this for production has been completed. Crankshaft. We have completed and issued designs for a crankshaft with increased area journal bearings. E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} | ||
