GENERAL

Engine Mountings

We are satisfied that we can improve our engine mountings and are proceeding on the raised front end mounting which will be applicable to the Wraith when complete, we are also working on the Phantom III. The new engine mounting has been demonstrated to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} who is getting out a design.

Gearbox costs

An analysis of the 'high spots' on our gearbox costs is being got out.

Alternative Aluminium Alloys

Endurance Tests are being carried out to see how these alloys stand up.

Sparking Plugs and Ethyl

Wst. has reported on the general situation. GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} is very pleased with the results he has so far obtained by fitting Ceramic plugs to customers' cars where trouble has previously been experienced.

Light Alloy Drums.

Three sets have been fitted to customers' cars. We have several more sets available. We are arranging to try one set on a customer's car that has habitually suffered from brake squeaks.

Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}
