X2677. To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/KT.27.6.33. BENTLEY PETROL PIPES & FILTER. We feel sure that we shall run into serious troubles with the existing scheme where the petrol pipe is run twice across the dashboard. To avoid this we think the tap could be brought across to the right-hand side of the chassis and either operated directly, in which case it would be rather inaccessible, or by remote control. We do not think the tap requires an "Off" position, now that we are using a petrol pump, therefore the tap will only be used when the driver wishes to run on the reserve. In connection with the petrol system, we should like to point out that, in its latest position, the petrol filter on the Bentley is very inaccessible, in fact it is almost impossible to clean without resorting to a pair of gas plyers. We recommend that its position should be altered. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
