X.4333 GOSHAWK DYNAMO BRUSHES.

With reference to the attached note from ROY {Sir Henry Royce} , you will remember we have already reported in our EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 9/T9.1.24 that we consider the EG.2 Morganite brushes a satisfactory alternative to our standard Z Le Carbone brushes, and that as such they should be kept in mind in case of failure of supply from Le Carbone.

It was not considered correct to issue a standardisation sheet because that would imply that such brushes should be used in parallel with the others, whereas we are only recommending them in case of failure of supply.

We hope shortly to extend our recommendation to cover the case of EAC dynamo brushes as well.

Perhaps you would kindly drop a line to ROY. {Sir Henry Royce} (with a copy to this Dept.) stating the position as it appears to you.
