40/50 HP CHASSIS SIDE STEERING TUBE.

Further to BY/Cgh{W Clough}14/H.29.3.27., with which we sent you blueprint F.76787 showing general arrangement of the new side steering tube and surrounding parts in relation to same, we are now sending you herewith a further print of this drawing on which we have shown how we have had to modify the shape of the tube in order to obtain the various clearances at the points indicated.

We have found it necessary to modify the tube as shown as owing to the fine clearances, we have had a number of cases on which fouls actually occurred, and although this does not take place on every chassis, it is necessary for us to provide for certain variations.

We herewith send you print F.75795 of a detail drawing of the above tube.

We are drawing your attention to the above facts so that you will no doubt bear them in mind when making any modifications which will improve the clearances to enable us to avoid as far as possible the bends shown in the side steering tube.
