R.R. 526A (100 T) (S.H. 798 10-12-29) G 2947 -2- Contd. after making our own adjustment. You will see that in the case of the last one, No.38681, the reverse series amperes are very much less than is required by our specification, so that the number of series turns has been unnecessarily increased. We still have two-cutouts, Nos. 38657/9 in which your seal is unbroken. For the moment, owing to trade depression and consequent reduction in output, our interest in these cutouts is only experimental. As we, however, are very favourably impressed with the instruments, it is possible that our interest in these will go farther than this in the near future. In that case, we should like you to re-adjust the two sealed instruments, to secure similar results to those which we now give you. We have had several of these cutouts running on experimental cars (after being passed by our experimental Laboratory as operating at the correct figures) and in every case we have received thoroughly satisfactory reports of the operation of these, the only technical objection whatever that has been raised to their use, is the slight clicking which occurs during operation. It would be quite out of the question to allow any vibration to take place on the car at their cutting-in or cutting-out point. Yours faithfully, | ||
