X40796 To EX. from EFC. c. By/RD. EFC2/T14.11.23. X. 4079b - IGNITION COILS. X4596 With reference to Mr. Royce's note R7/M12.11.23, re coils, (copy to you) I think R.{Sir Henry Royce} must have understood that we struggled hard to use the bakelite type of material for coil cases, and although we had a certain amount of success there were failures under unfavourable conditions, which finally decided us that it would be definitely unwise to attempt any further to use such material, anxious as we were to have been able to do so. With regard to his last paragraph, I do not distinctly remember a design for a circular coil case with a circular base coming through from W.W. Perhaps, therefore, it would be more satisfactory for you to send an answer to R's note. EFC. | ||
