PHANTOM III. STANDARDISATION of PARTS
Description of Parts. CARBON GRAPHITIC BEARINGS ON SMITH ELECTRIC PETROL GAUGE.
Origin. To avoid spindle seizing due to corrosion in tank.
Report of Experimental Test. Fitted to chassis 6-B-IV for 18,000 miles and found in satisfactory condition. Independent tests in Messrs. Laboratory confirm that these bearings are better than the existing ones. Smiths in their letter S1 11.2.37. say there will be no increase in cost.
