Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} 1065 FORD CRANKSHAFTS. In view of the fact that the Ford crankshaft is cast, it must frequently have many times the out-of-balance of our own. Bearing this in mind, the time allowed for balancing seems very creditable. It seems now to be generally accepted that Ford's only cast their crankshaft because it is so difficult to make in any other way. Fundamentally, they must lose a great deal of rigidity from the fact that it is a cast material. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
