Sorry to hear of your failure due to the Coil.
We are anxious to receive the faulty coil for inspection.
Was the fault due to the low tension or high tension wires, or connections failing?

Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} has left Derby today with the first of the 3 10,000 miles trials' cars 5-Goshawk-II. This chassis was fitted with an all-weather body and CJ. has given Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} instructions today that this car must be immediately put in use as the "express" car. He has booked accommodation on the boat sailing to Boulogne Wednesday afternoon 22nd.inst.

The car was very satisfactory on its final test and its performance as regards horse-power, hill climbing etc. was very good but the engine was distinctly harsh and similar to 2-Goshawk II. The clutch did not stop very nicely when depressed although attention had been given to it similar to that given to your car. The foot brake was very effective but inclined to "groan" when coming to a final stand-still.

The Goshawk limousine 3-Goshawk-II was used by the Sales Dept. this last week-end but they seem very dissatisfied with it and I attach a copy of a memo. from CJ. and a copy of our reply. The settlement of the carburetter job and whether R.{Sir Henry Royce} is in sympathy with using or adopting in some way, the S.U.Carburetter, is a point which requires establishing.
