x208 To Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} (For Depot Sheet) Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager}10/KW.4.10.34. Bentley Carburetter Air Silencers. -------------------------------- We have received 2 complaints of the stiffening strip EB.732 on the rear bracket supporting the air silencer, breaking away from the bracket itself. This stiffening strip is on the inside of the air silencer, and consequently when it breaks away from the bracket it is drawn into the engine with serious results (see memo. BY.15/N.3.10.34). Will you therefore issue a Depot Sheet to those concerned, that all air silencers now on Bentley cars in service must be modified at the first opportunity to the latest specification, to LOP. EB.683, having the following alterations incorporated :- Added. EB.2035 Stiffening Strip (rear bracket) 1 off S/MD. G.50029 Rivet (Stiffening strip) 2 off S/DS. D.51405 Rivet - No. off altered from 5 to 3. E.18304 Rivet (Silencer) - No. off altered from 28 to 30. Cancelled. EB.732 Stiffening Strip. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/G.H.Whyman. | ||
